SECTION 1, GENERAL RULES: 1. It is the intent of the Victorville Auto Raceway (VAR) to produce
a racing environment, which promotes good sportsmanship and enjoyment among all people who love the sport of auto racing.
We can only do this with the help of everyone who participates. Competition creates a high rate of emotion and this sometimes
creates difficulties. But we must always project a positive image. It is totally up to our association to govern ourselves
in order to continue racing. There will be calls made that will no doubt effect someone in a negative way. But we must keep
things in proper perspective at all times. We all want to succeed, but the only way we all win is to keep an eye on the big
picture, even when the call is against us. 2. Any person involved with a racecar
that confronts a member of the VAR staff or their representatives in a derogatory or abusive manner shall be immediately suspended
from involvement with racing at the Victorville Fairgrounds or with VAR. 3. At the discretion
of VAR official(s) in charge, any competitor may be disqualified for rule violations, hazardous equipment, hazardous actions
or personal conduct. 4. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age. WITH
THE EXCEPTION OF THE SPORT COMPACT JR CLASS. 5. The minimum age of any person entering
the pit area will be 12 years of age. All persons under 18 years of age (pit men & drivers) must obtain a parental/guardian
consent/release form to be allowed entry 6. All participants entering the pit area must obtain a valid pit pass, which is to be
worn in an easily visible place at all times. Any unauthorized person(s) in the pit area will be removed and may be subject
to prosecution to the fullest extent of the law, 7. VAR management reserves the right
to require drivers & pitmen to show proof of medical qualification to be allowed pit entry. The right may be exercised
on a case-by-case basis. 8. Drivers must be members of VAR to be eligible for track championship
points. Drivers that choose not to be members will not be recognized in the weekly points. Anyone who has raced here before
and wishes to keep their same car # can do so by applying for their membership before the end of March 2008. After March,
car numbers are open on a first come first served basis. Membership fees will be $75.00 for driver. 9. Nightly pit
entrance fees will be: MEMBERS: Car and Driver $40.00 NON-MEMBERS: Car and Driver $50.00. Pit
Members $20.00 Non-Pit Members $30.00. Membership for pit members $50.00. 10. All outstanding fines will
be paid prior to entry of the next scheduled event. 11. The driver has sole responsibility
for the actions and conduct of his/her crew. The driver is the sole spokesman for his/her crew. No exceptions. Any unsportsmanship
like conduct by drivers, owners and /or pit crews shall be grounds for disqualification and /or punitive action VAR management
and will be strictly enforced. 12. Absolutely NO alcoholic beverages will be consumed by drivers or
pit crew prior to, or during Victorville Auto Raceway events. Use of prescription drugs, which have a physical or psychological
effect on the user, will prevent the user from participation as a driver or crewmember. Use of illegal drugs at ANY TIME shall
be caused for immediate, indefinite suspension from all VAR events. VAR management has the right to request drug testing
at any time and at the expense of the individual being tested. 13. Fighting will not be tolerated.
Violation will mean immediate removal from the pits, a fine up to $500.00 and /or suspended and loss of points earned to date
at the discretion of the official in charge. Only drivers may question officials on official matters. No arguing will be tolerated
with officials and anyone laying hands on an official will be fined up to $500. And disqualified and /or suspended for a minimum
of one year from all VAR events. 14. In the event a fight occurs, VAR officials will investigate the facts
to the best of their ability and determine any action to be taken. However, the parties involved will be disqualified for
that night. Any monies or points earned up the point will be awarded after VAR officials meet. The party or parties found
guilty will forfeit all money and points for the night and be suspended as long as VAR officials deem appropriate. All parties
will be notified as to the outcome of the decision. 15. All points awarded stay with
the driver. Driver changes are allowed but must be reported to the Pit Steward prior to that race entering the racing surface.
Failure to report a driver change will result in the car being disqualified for that event. The replacement driver must have
paid a driver’s pit fee in order to be eligible to drive. 16. All participating cars will
participate in wheel packing the track. 17. Drivers must sign in no later than 4pm.Late entries will be placed at the rear of heat
races. 18. All competing vehicles must pass technical inspection each event in order to compete.
Drivers must be with cars during Tech Inspection. Approval of a competing vehicle by Victorville Auto Raceway inspectors shall
mean only that the vehicle is approved for participation in the competitive event and shall not be construed to mean, in any
way, that the vehicle is guaranteed to be mechanically sound. Nor does this guarantee that the car is legal; for the
division it has been approved to run in. Be it further declared that the Victorville Auto Raceway inspector shall not
be liable for any mechanical failures nor any losses or injuries resulting from the same. 19. All
cars must be removed from the pit area following the completion of the final race of the event. 20. Only Official’s videotape replays will be allowed for officiating purposes. All
judgment calls of Victorville Auto Raceway officials are final. SECTION II, SAFETY RULES: 1.
Speed limit in the pits is 5 MPH. Violation will result in a fine or disqualification at the VAR official’s
discretion. 2. Repairs to any racecar will be conducted completely inside the
pit area only. 3. No one from the pit area is allowed on the track unless specifically
authorized by VAR officials. Failure to comply may result in that individual being banned from the pits
for remainder of that event. 4. No one is allowed to work under a vehicle without safety stands
in place. Violators are subject to a $50.00 fine. 5. Drivers
may not get out of their car onto the racing surface or infield at any time without permission from a VAR official.
This rule does not apply to emergency situations. 6. Each pit crew will maintain
a fully pressurized five pounds or greater fire extinguisher, any car running alcohol must have five gallons of water in the
pits. 7. No passengers will be allowed in or on any competition vehicle at any time the
vehicle is moving. No riding on trailers, sideboards or bumpers while on Victorville Auto Raceway property.
A fine of $25.00 per person will be imposed. 8. No two or three wheel pit bikes allowed. Quads Or Golf carts ok.
No riding double on quads allowed at any time. Max speed 5mph. 9. All ambulance
bills incurred will be the sole responsibility of the participant using the ambulance service. 10. No glass
containers are allowed at any time in the pits. No alcoholic beverages allowed in the pit area during the
races. 11. All cars running alcohol as a fuel must have a minimum of four (4) inch clearly
marked letter “A” located within six (6) inches of either side of the car number on the left and the right sides
of the car. SECTION
III, COMPETITION RULES: 1.
All cars entering the track surface must keep a slow pace, unless a Victorville Auto Raceway official motions it to speed
up. 2. All starts, cars
must maintain positions until the green flag is displayed on the exit of turn four When the green flag
and/or lights are displayed the entire track is under racing conditions. You must remain inline Nose to tail in your original
starting position until you pass the flag stand. Any driver that passes before the flag stand will be ejected from that race.
3. Any single car spin out that brings out the caution flag will be ejected
from the race regardless of the reason why you spun. 4. When more than one car is involved (stop forward momentum) in a caution
if the track can determine who was the cause that driver will be ejected from the race and the remaining cars will be sent
to the rear of the field. 5. Any car involved in two cautions whether or not they were the cause will be ejected
from the race. 6. If you stop on the track to argue with any officials over a call that was made you will be ejected from the
race. 7. A race will be considered officially under way after all cars have completed one full lap.
Only two attempts at a clean start will be permitted, after which the line up will be single file. 8. Any car leaving the track at any time during a race including starts or restarts may return
only to the rear of the field if done so in a safe manner with the pit steward’s approval, providing they took the original
green flag. 9. The flagman may black-flag any racecar, as he feels necessary.
Rough driving to the point of un-sportsmanship like conduct will result in a black flag and may result in further disqualification,
suspension and/or fine. 10. No hot lapping prior to the beginning of each race.
No passing the pole car. 11. Any car that exits the track through the entrance gate during a race without permission
will be scored last in that race and will not be allowed to return. 12. When
a pace car is used, no racecar may pass it while it is on the racing surface unless motioned to do so by a VAR official unless
the racecar is proceeding directly to the pits. 13. Races are concluded on
the checkered flag regardless of number of laps completed. 14. Once the white flag
is displayed and an accident occurs, the yellow and checkered flags will both be displayed and the race is over.
If the leaders have not taken the checkered flag the race will be scored by the last full running green flag lap.
Track rule/class rule violations may result in penalties against the cars involved in caution thus changing outcome
of race. This may be everything from a position change to a fine, to be determined by the Victorville Auto Raceway Track Manager
and/or the Director of Racing. 15. Top five (4) finishers in each main event must report directly
to TECH after taking the checkered flag. Any car not reporting directly to TECH following the main event
will be disqualified for the night. 16. Any part lost off a racecar during the main event may not be
replaced before crossing the scales. However, flat tires may be changed prior to scaling the car with a
VAR official’s permission; tires must be replaced with exact weight and offset wheels and tires. SECTION IV, LINEUPS: LINE-UP PROCEDURES 1. First night, all drivers draw for heats. Qualifiers redraw for starting positions. One heat
- 5 redraw; two or five heats - 10 redraw; three, four or six heats - 12 redraw. 2. From second night on, heats are lined
up by season point average, stagger inverted, lowest point average to front, highest point average to rear. New drivers carrying
no point average start at the rear. Two or more drivers having no average or same point average will be lined up at discretion
of officials. Point averages are figured from point system. Average is figured by driver’s point total divided by the total
number of times he/she has competed at track. 3. “B” mains are lined up straight up from heats with highest
finishers to front. 4. When one heat is run, top five qualifiers will be inverted for feature lineup according to season
point average. When two or five heats are run, the top 10 qualifiers will be inverted for feature lineup according to season
point average. When three, four or six heats are run, top 12 qualifiers will be inverted for feature according to season point
average. Promoter reserves the right to relocate a driver from an invert position to the rear of the field if deemed necessary
for the safety and well being of all involved. Remainder of “A” feature is lined up straight up from heats and/or
“B” features. 5. A driver that qualifies but has no point average shall be lined up in last invert position.
Should there be more than one driver with no point average, positions will be lined up at discretion of officials. 6.
If a driver is absent for two consecutive events (excluding rain-outs), upon his/her return shall be treated as a new car
(rule #5) for the first week he/she returns.
SECTION V, POINT STRUCTURE 1. Weekly ‘A’ Feature win is 40 points, with each subsequent
position worth one point less, with 20th position in feature worth 21 points. If more than 20 cars start feature, all positions
from 20th back receive 1 less point per position to 17 points. If track runs a ‘B’ feature(s), first non-transferring
driver receives 16 points and each subsequent position, back to sixth position, receives one less point per position. Sixth
position on back in ‘B’ feature(s) receives 11 points. This applies to all ‘B’s, even if more than
one is run. Drivers that don’t qualify for ‘A’ or ‘B’ feature
will receive no points. 2. Should a driver qualify for ‘B’ feature or ‘A’ feature,
and not be able to compete, they will be scored in last position and receive points accordingly. (Promoter’s discretion
whether vacated position is filled in feature by next qualified driver.) 3. To qualify for the A or B main you must complete
one full green flag lap in your heat. 4. Driver must participate at minimum 50%
of weekly point events at a track to be eligible track point fund. 5.
TRACK standings are based on driver’s total cumulative points. 6. Victorville Auto Raceway Track Manager will determine the number
of laps in all races for less than full fields. (20 cars = full field) 7. Points
go to the driver. 8. Main event purse will drop 5% each position
for each car less than 20. SECTION VI, FLAGS: GREEN: Start. The Green flag will drop between turns
3 and 4 if all cars are in position. YELLOW: CAUTION:
Slow down. Do not pass; do not race to the start/finish line. Restart will be
single file and lined up according to the last green lap. Cars considered involved in the incident causing
the yellow flag would be placed at the back of the pack. RED: STOP:
All cars will come to an immediate but safe stop, and will not move unless instructed by a Victorville Auto Raceway
official. You must stay in your car while waiting. Any car caught moving or leaving
track will be black-flagged. Red flag will supersede any other flag. BLACK:
Pull immediately into the pits and remain there for the duration of the race. Failure to heed the
flagman’s signal may result in suspension, disqualification and/or fine. BLACK/RED STRIPE:
Pull into the pits immediately for repairs. You may re-enter the race after the repairs have been
made. Failure to heed the flagman’s signal may result in penalties. BLUE/YELLOW STRIPE:
Move over signal. You are being lapped. Maintain you line unless directed high
or low by the flagman. Failure to comply may result in a black flag. RED/YELLOW:
Complete restart. CROSSED WHITE/GREEN: Halfway point in the race.
The race is official. WHITE: Last lap. When displayed,
the checkered must follow. CHECKERED FLAG: End of race. SECTION VII, NUMBERING AND PAINT: 1. Legible numbers must be applied to both left and right door panels and roof, no less than 20 inches in height.
Minimum 6” numbers must be eligible from the front and rear of the racecar (See rules for specific divisions
on placement of numbers on front and rear of cars.) Color of numbers must be in sharp contrast to body
color. It is the driver’s responsibility that numbers be clearly legible at the discretion of the
Victorville Auto Raceway head scorekeeper. Failure to comply will result in the possibility of not being
scored. Numbers will be assigned to drivers of the VAR on a first come, first served basis. All VAR members will
use numbers from 0-99. 2. Visiting drivers may run the number on their car provided
that it does not create confusion with the scorekeepers. In the case of duplication numbers the visiting
driver may be required to add an “X” or some other identifying mark to the racecar’s number. 3. Any Victorville Auto Raceway driver who fields a car number more than 3 race events
in a single season has first rights to that car number the following year. SECTION VIII, PROTEST: DRIVERS will initiate protest only. 1. Upon
completion of all main events and the unofficial results have been posted drivers will have fifteen (15) minutes in which
to protest the results. If no protests are filed, the results will be official. 2. Protests fall
into two categories: Scoring and Car Legality, in both cases, each protest must be in writing and accompany
the appropriate amount of cash. The protest will be given to the Victorville Auto Raceway Track Manager
(Pit Steward). 3. Scoring Protest: Scoring protests must be received within fifteen
(15) minutes of the posting of the unofficial results. The head scorekeeper and Track Manager will review
all scoring protests. The reviewed decision is final. If the scoring protest is found
to be invalid, the money will be retained by the track. If the protest is found to be
valid, the money will be returned to the protestor and the positions corrected. Scoring protest are $25.00. ENGINE PROTEST
PROCEDURES: Any Victorville Auto Raceway member may request to have a motor tore down to the crankshaft
for inspection of illegal parts for a fee of $500.00. Any starters of the main event within 5 minutes after
checkered flag at the tech pad area. $100.00 to VAR, $400.00 to car owner if found legal. If illegal, $400.00 will be returned
to member contesting car and $100.00 to VAR ($100.00 to raceway covers cost required for tech officials to over see procedure).
Must have raced the two races in a row prior to requesting an engine tear down. Refusal of tear down penalty subject to Victorville
Auto Raceway discretion Any dispute or situation not covered by these rules will be resolved by the Track Manager,
the Director of Racing, and/or other Victorville Auto Raceway officials in a manner deemed by them to be the fairest
to all concerned, and that decision shall be final and binding. The only correct interpretation
of the rule is the one by the Tech Official. DISCLAIMER: Equipment will not be considered legal simply because it
went through inspection unnoticed. You will be disqualified when the infraction is detected. These rules can
be modified at any time to increase parity and to improve competition. ALL ILLEGAL PARTS IN ALL CLASSES WILL BE RENDERED
TO THE OFFICIALS WHEN FOUND ON OR BEFORE EVERY RACING EVENT DISCLAIMER: The rules and/or regulations set forth
herein are designed for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.
The rules shall govern all entrants. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM
PUBLICATIONS AND/OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the
conduct of the sport and are in way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. |
